New Code Vein Gameplay Looks Bloodthirsty as Ever

Since E3 there’s been more news than ever coming out about a variety of games. Code Vein is no exception. Bandai Namco’s post-apocalyptic, vampire hit is said to be making its way to consoles and PC this September. With that in mind, it makes sense why new Code Vein gameplay has been revealed to the industry trying E3. And we’re more than pleased to say that it looks as bloody and gorgeous as ever.

Already named as ‘anime Dark Souls’, Code Vein already looks to have a promising future ahead of its release, with more than a few fans looking forward to diving deep into a world that looks like the lovechild of God Eater and Bloodbound. The combat is gory, the characters look sublime, you can customize your own character, and the story feels as though it will have one of the strongest narratives yet. What reason is there to not get excited when it looks so good?

In the latest gameplay introduced at E3, players had the opportunity to take on the fierce Invading Executioner Boss, who as you can probably tell by the name, wasn’t too happy to see anyone crawling around in their personal space and wanted to get spear stabby about it. Talk about a tough crowd.

The video below comes from the IGN YouTube account.

As you can see, that fight got more than a little tense. Not only that, but it also gave us an insight on how fast the boss will be, as well as the various movements and different abilities your protagonist will have. Of course, there are other abilities depending on what ‘Gift’ you equip, so we’re certain you’ll be more than surprised in the future at what other abilities are available.

While it may seem like old news, we can’t ever get over how helpful the Code Vein companions are. And if you’re playing multiplayer with a friend, you’ll even get the option to have their companion join you in battle too.

All in all, Code Vein looks to be shaping up to be one of my most anticipated games of the year. Do you agree? If so, be sure to grab your copy on XB1 and PS4 on the 27th of September and PC via Steam on the 28th of September.
