New Rainbow Six Siege Year 4 Purchase Options Are Now Available

As it gears up for Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 4 content schedule, Ubisoft has updated the game’s current pricing model. A new series of bundled editions are now available for Siege, with some including the game’s Year 4 contents. The game’s PC-exclusive Starter Edition is also being retired, with all current Starter Edition owners getting a free upgrade.

Under the new pricing scheme, there are now four different versions of Siege available for purchase. The base version of Rainbow Six Siege remains unchanged, granting access to all game modes and maps. Base edition owners still begin with a small pool of operators and unlock more operators through gameplay.

All PC Starter Edition owners are receiving an upgrade to the base edition at no added cost. This means they can unlock new operators more quickly thanks to the reduced Renown costs. The Starter Edition has also been discontinued as of this writing.

Aside from the base edition of Siege there are also three specialty editions. Each grants access to bonus perks and unlocks for players who are willing to pay the extra premium. The three specialty editions are as follows:

  • Deluxe Edition (replaces the old Advanced Edition) – Base game plus instant access to all eight Year 1 operators
  • Gold Edition – Year 1 operators and Year 4 Pass (early access to Year 4 operators and 600 R6 Credits)
  • Ultimate Edition (replaces the old Complete Edition) – Year 1, 2, and 3 operators plus Year 4 Pass

To further entice new and old fans alike, Ubisoft is discounting all editions of Siege by 50-70 percent. The studio also plans on implementing a new scaling operator pricing system later in 2019. Under the new system, older DLC operators will have lower a-la-carte microtransaction prices.

Speaking of the Six Invitational, that’s also when Ubisoft will fully unveil Siege’s next content update,  Operation Burnt Horizon. Meanwhile, players can enjoy the benefits of the game’s recently deployed February balancing update.
