NFL Rookie Marquise Goodwin Disputes His Madden 20 Rating, Kyler Murray & Cardinals Rookies Guess Ratings

The first of the Madden 20 ratings arrived on July 1 as numbers for rookies from the 2019 NFL Draft were revealed. That included the No. 1 pick Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals, and highly-touted wide receiver Marquise Goodwin of the San Francisco 49ers. Neither player was the highest-rated rookie, and both seem to have some contentions with their various numbers. Here’s the latest on what Goodwin and Murray think about their Madden 20 rookie numbers.

49ers rookie Marquise Goodwin questions Madden 20 rating

Just a day ago, we got our first look at the Madden 20 rookie ratings which showed which of the 2019 Draft class members are considered the best of the bunch before the season. Topping the list was the New York Jets’ Quinnen Williams. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers’ Marquise Goodwin was the highest-rated rookie receiver in the game. It should come as no surprise since Goodwin recently won a competition called “40 Yards of Gold” to determine the fastest player.

Just ahead of the rookie ratings release, Goodwin tweeted to EA Madden to question their numbers. He also suggested that they needed to give him 100s across the board for Speed, Acceleration, Agility, and Jumping. He also indicated his Strength attribute should be higher.

On Tuesday (July 2), the EA Madden Twitter replied to Marquise Goodwin’s tweet. First, they put up an “Under Review” graphic with regards to his request. Then, several hours later, they came back with a decision in favor of giving Marquise Goodwin a few numbers boosts.

In their follow-up tweet, they indicated they’d raised Goodwin’s Acceleration up to a 97 and his Speed up to a 98. That’s not quite the 100s that Goodwin may have requested, but it’s still quite a boost! Once the season gets underway, Goodwin will have to show that he’s worthy of keeping his numbers or seeing them get more of a boost.

Arizona Cardinals rookies guess their attribute numbers

While there was a general video showing NFL rookies’ reacting to their first look at the Madden 20 ratings, the Arizona Cardinals also have a video out. It shows off their new rookies as they try to guess what their specific attribute numbers are such as Speed, Agility, and in the case of Kyler Murray, Accuracy.

As seen in the video clip above, Murray was surprised to learn his Accuracy score isn’t in the 90s. He’s still got time to show the world what he’s capable of once he gets going on the field for the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Madden is giving away an autographed Kyler Murray card right now. To enter, fans just need to go on Twitter and comment with what they believe Murray’s rookie rating should be for Madden 20. Visit the tweet below to try to win that autographed card of the Cardinals’ rookie QB.

The new Madden NFL 20 game arrives on August 2, 2019, but those gamers who pre-ordered the game will get it three days early. So many gamers will have their hands on the game by the end of July.
