NHL 19 World Team Of The Year Revealed: Offensive Lineup Includes Alex Ovechkin, Nikita Kucherov

After seeing the stacked lineup of players for the NHL’s North American Team of the Year, the World TOTY packs some power. Headlining this year’s squad is none other than Stanley Cup Finals MVP Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals. He’s joined by several other highly-rated stars including Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov, and Erik Karlsson of the San Jose Sharks. Here’s a look at which star players made the NHL 19 World Team offensive lineup.

NHL 19 World Team of the Year Offensive roster

As mentioned, the NHL 19 North American TOTY brought stars such as Sidney Crosby and Patrick Kane to that talented lineup. The World TOTY features international stars including seven different 99-rated players. Ovechkin and Karlsson lead the way among forwards along with  Colorado’s Mikko Rantanen and Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl. The Ovechkin card looks to be amongst the best as the Russian star has 99s in Shooting, Skating, and Checking. He’s also got a 98 Hand-eye Coordination and 94 Defense.

Other 99-rated players include defensemen Erik Karlsson (Sharks), Roman Josi (Predators), as well as goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy (Lightning). The complete World Team of the Year Offensive roster is shown below.

NHL 19 Team of the Year World details

Several of the NHL clubs have already boasted of their players’ inclusion on the new World TOTY lineup. They include the San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals. The reigning NHL champions posted a video on Twitter (below) to celebrate Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov being named to the squad. The Sharks are celebrating Karlsson’s inclusion as well.

This latest squad arrives after the North American TOTY and Young Guns TOTY announcements. There will also be an NHL 19 Community Team of the Year. See details here for how to vote on the Community TOTY.

There will also be a World Defensive TOTY on the way, so stay tuned for that one soon.

To get these World TOTY player cards, gamers will need to head into the Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) mode and purchase packs. Players may also become available on the NHL 19 marketplace, but depending on which star you’re after, it could cost quite a bit of currency. The newest TOTY players are available in HUT until Wednesday (Apr. 3).

As far as which of these talented teams might win in a head-to-head battle, that’s anyone’s guess. The latest squad is certainly full of some great talent, but North America also boasted impressive stars on its roster. Who do you think would win, North America or World?
