Nintendo Switch Hardware Update 6.0.1 Patch Notes: Motion Control Fixes, More

Nintendo has released the Nintendo Switch hardware update 6.0.1 patch notes. This is the first update to arrive in the post-6.0.0 world that brought with it a ton of changes. Those changes include the Nintendo Switch Online Service program’s official launch and so much more. As such, it’s worth noting that this 6.0.1 update isn’t nearly as groundbreaking as its predecessor.

Instead, the Nintendo Switch hardware update 6.0.1 patch notes are much smaller but no less important. The few changes that this update includes are both integral and important to Switch owners. Owners who have purchased third-party accessories and controllers will be especially happy with this update. This is because the update brings some key fixes.

However, even those owners who haven’t purchased third-party accessories will be happy with the Nintendo Switch hardware update 6.0.1 patch notes. That’s because it also fixes an annoying bug that any Switch owner can deal with when downloading other updates and software. Nintendo has released an important fix for a particular bug related to that as well.

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including:

  • Resolved an issue where internet connection test does not display correct results for download and upload speed
  • Resolved an issue where some licensed controllers’ motion controls such as tilt function respond incorrectly

Like we mentioned, the Nintendo Switch hardware update 6.0.1 patch notes are pretty brief. That doesn’t matter, though, as this update does include those key changes. As for the actual size of the update, it seems pretty meager in size. It took us far less than a minute to download, install, and reboot the system entirely.

Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch hardware update 6.0.1 patch notes don’t address any changes regarding the online service. That service launched last month with the 6.0.0 update. You can find out more about it right here.
