Njord’s Oarsmen: Where to Find This Hidden Treasure in God of War
Among God of War’s many collectibles and side-quests are a series of treasure maps. More clues and riddles than actual maps, these items can lead you to some valuable hidden loot. The “Njord’s Oarsmen” treasure map is one such item, and you can find it by completing the Fafnir’s Hoard and Family Business Favors for the dwarf vendor Sindri.
Finding the Njord’s Oarsmen Treasure Map
Once you have completed the Fafnir’s Hoard Favor for Sindri, he will give you a second Favor called Family Business. Well worth doing for other reasons (such as gaining God of War’s Infinity Gauntlet), you will also find the Njord’s Oarsmen map near the end of the Favor. After you defeat the Traveler aboard the raider ship, head down to the lower deck by breaking the side of the vessel. Inside, you will find the scroll beside a suit of armor.
The map’s clue reads: “On my last voyage, my ship was ravaged by Thor’s thunder and storms. I had given up hope when the gentile wind of Njord parted the dark clouds and filled my sails. I have hidden my treasure up high where I can forever row with Njord’s Oarsmen.”
Finding The Hidden Treasure
To find this hidden treasure, make your way from Northri Stronghold across the Lake of Nine. Located between the Council of Valkyries and the Light Elf Outpost are the Njord’s Oarsmen statues. Get close, and you will find a ledge near one of the oarsman’s feet. On that ledge is a pile of debris, and within, is the hidden treasure which the map refers to.
Inside the pile you’ll find World Serpent Scales, a Legendary crafting resource called a Glacial Catalyst, and a Legendary enchantment called the Stone of Frost Supremacy. The enchantment is great for players who like frost damage, as it increases all frost damage you inflict by 25%, although this does cap at a 50% increase.
