Oninaki Director has Led Development on Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve

A few days ago, Square Enix and Tokyo RPG Factory announced Oninaki during a Nintendo Direct. This new venture actually takes inspiration from Action RPGs unlike I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear. However, one of its most appealing qualities is the team that is developing the game. In fact, one of the members is actually the director of Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve.

Parative Eve and Chrono Trigger Director Leads Oninaki’s Development

What Will Oninaki Deliver for Gamers?

Takashi Tokita is the current director for Oninaki’s development. His previous works involve Live a Live, Parasite Eve, Chrono Trigger, and The Bouncer. Furthermore, he is joined by multiple people with experience in Action RPGs. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the lead behind one of the most acclaimed games of all time.

The scenario of the game will be handled by HIrotaka Inaba. For starters, he wrote I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear. As such, players will be getting the best of both worlds in a story that will be “Disturbing and shocking”.

It wasn’t long ago that Famitsu revealed Tokita’s involvement with Oninaki. In fact, all the way back in 2017, it was revealed that Tokita was working on a Nintendo Switch title. Of course, it’s easy to assume that this is what the headlines were referring to. However, let’s not forget that Oninaki is also a multiplatform title.

As many of our readers can see, the development team is quite solid. As such, players can expect nothing but a story that delivers on the expectations. However, not everything is set in stone and further developments will be announced.

What do you think about the current director for Oninaki? What do you think about the writer for the game? Are you going to get the game on Nintendo Switch? Will you purchase the game on PC? Let us know your thoughts on the VGR Forums.
