The time has come trailer. After a year full of theorizing, PvP is coming to Pokemon GO. The Pokemon GO Trainer Battles, as Niantic calls it, will be coming to the game in the near future. The new feature will include three leagues, each with its own CP limit.
Niantic has been teasing the Pokemon GO Trainer Battles for a few days now. It was revealed only a couple of days before though what the tease was all about.
As the company announced, players will be choosing one of three leagues in Pokemon GO Trainer Battles. Each has a certain CP limit.
Here are the Pokemon GO Trainer Battles leagues:
- Great League: 1,500 CP limit per Pokemon
- Ultra League: 2,500 CP limit per Pokemon
- Master League: No CP limit per Pokemon
What does this mean? This basically means that Niantic is giving value to your lower CP pokemon. This justifies the decision to raise the capacity of your Pokemon storage from 300 to 2000. To be efficient in Pokemon GO Trainer Battles, you’ll need at least one copy of the strongest pokemon at three different CP maximums. At least, that’s what we believe.
Niantic also explained:
“When designing Trainer Battles, we wanted to create an experience that everyone can enjoy and ensure that different kinds of Pokemon can show their strengths”
This means that Trainer Battles won’t be limited to the ones we see up until now. We’re used to see all Tyranitars, Gengars and Eevee evolutions. Now is the time for your dearest pokemon to shine. You better start grinding for some new ones too.
What we do not know yet though about the Pokemon GO Trainer Battles is what rewards it would bear. It could be a weekly reward in items to use in game, gold coins or a new currency altogether.
Those was some good news coming our way. We hope to see more exciting new features coming to the game in 2019. For what it’s worth, Pokemon GO is still on the rise and it is not likely that it will slow down any time soon.
