More Preview Content Coming for Total War: Three Kingdoms

Total War: Three Kingdoms is now just over one month away from release. In recent weeks, Creative Assembly has released a great deal of preview content, including detailed Let’s Plays focusing on the new spy and hero mechanics. The game’s preview embargo has also lifted now, meaning that pre-release content has begun to emerge online. In their latest studio update, Creative Assembly hints that there will be more preview content coming soon before the game’s release on the 7th of March.

Creative Assembly Teases More Total War: Three Kingdoms Preview Content

“The Three Kingdoms devs are working hard on finishing the game as release day approaches,” says Creative Assembly; “with lots of bugfixing and polishing in progress. […] Three Kingdoms is undoubtedly the deepest Total War game we’ve ever made, with only a fraction of the strategic complexities you’re capable of encountering as part of any given Three Kingdoms campaign having been revealed thus far – so stay tuned!”

Total War Three Kingdoms Content Coming Before Launch

One area which has yet to be shown at all is the Yellow Turban Rebellion content pack. This pack is available as a free preorder bonus and introduces the Yellow Turbans as an extra playable faction; a faction complete with its own unique rules and characters. Post-launch, the game will be available as paid DLC. According to Creative Assembly, the studio will be showing gameplay of this content close to the game’s release. “However,” continues the update; “the designers have already started the planning and pre-production of future post-launch DLC and free-LC, which is important in helping determine our upcoming schedule.

Apparently, more details of this planned post-launch content will be available soon; Creative Assembly will be releasing a blog post sometime in February about post-launch support for Total War: Three Kingdoms. The studio recently revealed the eleven starting heroes who will be playable in the game’s campaign, but thus far most haven’t appeared in gameplay. It’s possible fans may get to see more of these characters in preview content too during February.
