In what may prove to be the biggest GTA news of 2020, Rockstar has announced the upcoming launch of an all-new heist; the GTA Online Cayo Perico Heist. Coming to the game on the 15th of December, this new multiplayer heist mission will be taking players to an all-new setting; the private island of Cayo Perico.

“It’s time to raise the stakes higher than ever before,” writes Rockstar; “You’ve broken a convicted spy out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary. You’ve saved the world from an egomaniacal tech billionaire. And you’ve beaten the odds to drain a casino of its cash. This time, you’re taking on an entire island.”
According to Rockstar, the Cayo Perico Heist will be the biggest and most “action-packed” heist ever for GTA Online. Players will be able to infiltrate Cayo Perico in a variety of different ways, giving more choice than ever before. Additionally, the heist will be available for players to tackle solo if they don’t want to play with the usual 4-player group. The mission will feature new weapons, new vehicles, and even a new submarine headquarters. This submarine will serve as the player’s base of operations while they tackle the Cayo Perico Heist.
In addition to all this new content, Rockstar has also teased another form of building which players will be able to acquire; “Experience new social spaces to dance and party in with your friends,” explains Rockstar; “and new world-class guest DJs, and listen to new radio stations with over 100 songs”. The Cayo Perico Heist will be the last major update to come to GTA Online this year, following on from the Los Santos Summer Special, earlier this year, which also added a whole range of new content. The heist is likely to launch alongside the new vehicle which all players will be able to download for free for a limited time; the prize for the community successfully completing Rockstar’s Heist Challenge last week.
