There are so many new characters for players to unlock in Super Smash Bros Ultimate like Inkling and Simon. However, the final new fighter that we haven’t gone over how to unlock is Super Smash Bros Ultimate King K. Rool. King K. Rool is one of the only villains (besides Ridley) to join the overwhelming number of fighters you can select in this title.
For those who don’t know, Super Smash Bros Ultimate King K. Rool comes from the Donkey Kong series. He is the infamous villain that is always trying to take down Donkey Kong and company. Basically, he’s the series’ equivalent of Bowser in the Super Mario franchise. As such, it’s no surprise he was finally added with this fifth game in the series.
How to Unlock Super Smash Bros Ultimate King K. Rool
Like the Inklings, King K. Rool is one of the easiest and fastest fighters to unlock in the whole game. This is most likely in order to please fans of the villain who wish to try him out. There are three main methods for unlocking him and we’re going to start with World of Light. While he’s in this mode, it can take a long time so we recommend avoiding this method.
A better method is by playing through normal Smash matches. Super Smash Bros Ultimate King K. Rool is the 16th fighter that you unlock through this method, which isn’t too bad. However, there is one more method that is much, much faster. If you’re looking to unlock him quickly, you’ll want to do Classic Mode.
All you need to do is open up the game and do Link’s Classic Mode once. That’s it. Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to challenge Super Smash Bros Ultimate King K. Rool. Win that fight and he’s yours to play as in the game.
