Anime fans, even if you haven’t watched Sword Art Online, we have a feeling that you’ll like this game regardless. For fans who are have watched the anime and loved Bandai Namco’s action-RPG, Sword Online: Fatal Bullet, then rejoice as you now have the option to jump right into the game’s very first DLC, Ambush of the Imposters. What’s more, the DLC is completely free which means it’ll feel that much sweeter when you click that ‘download’ button.
The free expansion will include lots of goodies for players to enjoy, such as brand new dungeons and intriguing stories. Not only that, it’ll have a new offline mode, new characters (Musketeer X, Dyne, and Yamikaze), new bosses, new customization items and a whole lot more. If that isn’t enough to make you pumped up about the newest DLC, then nothing will.
According to the official PlayStation website, via PS Lifestyle, “[Ambush of the Imposters] journey takes place before you and the group have completed the SBC Flügel. Rumors have been circulating about several ArFA-sys units appearing out in the field as enemies. With the help of the renowned GGO players Dyne, Yamikaze, and Musketeer X, you slowly uncover the truth behind this mystery.” Unfortunately, developer Bandai Namco has not specified whether the DLC will be a one-off adventure, or if it will take place during the main narrative of Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet.
What’s so intriguing about Sword Art Online video games, in general, is that it takes on the task of creating a video game from an anime about a video game. It’s a whole mismatch, and despite some faults that fans of the series have come to expect (poor combat, etc), there are also many more people who adore the video game series despite the bad. What we do know, however, is that we hope fans who like the game enjoy their time playing this DLC.
