In amongst the various announcements that DICE has made today concerning Battlefield 5’s War in the Pacific expansion, details have been released for two new Battlefield 5 Elites. Neither of these characters has a trailer yet, and their release date is vague. DICE simply states that they will arrive “Later in Chapter 5”. One will be available for the Allies, while the other is an Axis Elite from the Japanese forces.

The Upcoming War in the Pacific Battlefield 5 Elites

The first of the two upcoming War in the Pacific Battlefield 5 Elites is Jack Culver. If you’re not familiar with Battlefield 5 Elites, they are essentially special cosmetic packs which allow players to play as a particular individual. They have unique voice lines, a unique skin, and so on. If players complete a certain challenge, they can also unlock a Signature Melee Weapon for the Elite. Jack Culver is an Allies Elite whose career began in the European theatre before he found himself in the Pacific.

“The unflinching Jack is as dangerous behind a mounted machine gun as with his Escape Axe,” explains DICE; “Jack completed a dozen missions in the European threate before being reassigned to the Pacific. Always first to volunteer, he has an ability to push squadmates through what they consider impossible situations and is infamous for expending excess ammunition and explosives.”

Indeed, as noted above, Culver’s Signature Melee Weapon is the Escape Axe. His Axis counterpart hails from the Japanese army; Keisuke Nakamura. “Inspiring fearlessness in those who fight alongside him, Keisuke is an experienced, tactical, and natural-born commander, who always finds the perfect moment to strike. An authority on the battlefield and a skilled sidearm marksman, Keisuke believes a precision attack is more effective than the largest raid. Beware his skills – and his Hachiwari melee weapon”. The Hachiwari, also known as the ‘skull-breaker’ was a long knife for parrying blades and piercing armour. It was used by the samurai of feudal Japan.
