Ubisoft Releases Explosive Far Cry New Dawn Launch Trailer

With less than two days to go before the release of Far Cry New Dawn, Ubisoft has now released a launch trailer for the game. The new trailer is certainly explosive! In just a few minutes it showcases a wide variety of the more dramatic combat which features in the next instalment of the Far Cry franchise. It also gives players more of a look at the Twins and their villainous faction, the Highwaymen.

Ubisoft’s frenetic new trailer jumps rapidly from scene to scene; offering glimpses of new characters, factions, settings, and a whole lot of destruction. Fans get to see more of the game’s new Guns-for-Hire like Horatio, Timber, and Nana, as well as plenty of both the Twins and the Father. In fact, in the latter case, Ubisoft shows both Joseph Seed looking enigmatic and imposing, and also more crazed as he stands beneath a burning tree. His role in the story is still unknown, but given how Far Cry 5 left off, it’s certain that he will be a major character (and maybe even the game’s true villain).

Although Far Cry New Dawn features the same setting of Hope County that featured in Far Cry 5, seventeen years and a nuclear apocalypse have changed the region considerably. Moreover, players will also get to travel to new areas in Expeditions where they’ll take on much larger Highwaymen strongholds. Perhaps the biggest change of all among Far Cry New Dawn’s new features is the addition of ‘light’ RPG mechanics. This will be the first Far Cry to feature weapon and enemy ranks, a resource-based weapon crafting system, and an upgrade-able home base; the settlement of Prosperity.

One part of the new RPG mechanics is the ‘Escalation System’. Rather than simply taking over enemy outposts, players can instead choose to loot and abandon outposts. This will secure resources and other loot while leaving the outpost empty for more powerful enemies to move in. This mechanic in particular has the potential to give Far Cry New Dawn much more end-game content than previous instalments.
