Xbox Series X Will Cost $599.99

There have been so many price predictions for the Xbox Series X over the course of this year. The waiting and wondering will be over soon. But in the meantime, there is a potential leak which may have revealed the price of the next gen Xbox console. If the rumor is correct, the Xbox Series X will cost $599.99. Let’s take a closer look at the source of this rumor and whether this is a realistic price prediction.

What is the Source of the Rumor that the Xbox Series X Will Cost $599.99?

Details are appearing online for a Halo Infinite x Monster Energy Drink promotion which will commence on September 1st. Apparently, participants will have a chance to win an Xbox Series X along with a copy of Halo Infinite, and there are 200 prizes available in all.

How does this tell us anything about the possible cost of the Xbox Series X? Because the value of the entire prize pool is listed as $119,998. So, we can divide that by $200 to get a price of $599.99.

Now, logically, that could be the cost of the console, or it could be the cost of the console along with Halo Infinite. It depends on how Microsoft and Monster have decided to absorb costs relating to the promotion. If the cost of Halo Infinite is part of that $599.99, the Xbox Series X might come closer to $500 or $550.

So, this leak doesn’t tell us what the exact cost of the Xbox Series X is, but it gives us an idea for a possible price range. And given that $500-$600 seems entirely reasonable and in line with many other predictions, we feel we can take this leak seriously. Just remember that there is nothing official about this price range.
