Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous Launches After 24-Hour Delay

Following a last-minute delay after the event seemingly failed to launch yesterday, Respawn has now successfully launched their Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event. Although the precise reason for the delay remains unclear, Respawn seem to have resolved whatever the problem was. Rather than its original dates, the week-long event will now span from today to the 19th of February.

Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous Event Now Live

The Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event was originally meant to launch yesterday, on the 11th of February. However, shortly after Respawn seemingly tried to launch the event, the studio announced that it was being postponed until today. The exact reason for this is unknown, but it appears to have been the result of a problem which didn’t become apparent until the very last minute. Fortunately, whatever it was, Respawn seem to have fixed the issue; the event is now live.

Although the Valentine’s Day Rendezvous is a relatively small event for Apex Legends, it does feature its own game mode. Alongside event cosmetics, the Rendezvous includes the limited-time return of Apex’s Duos mode; thus allowing players to drop into battle royale in squads of two. Furthermore, the event is offering players who play in squads with at least one other person bonus XP, awarded every day during the Rendezvous.

The Rendezvous is also the first in-game event to arrive following the launch of Season 4. (Possibly one reason why the event is relatively small, given that a host of new content launched less than two weeks ago.) For now, it’s unknown exactly what Respawn has planned to follow the Rendezvous. However, at least one event is due to arrive midway through Season 4, and will include a Town Takeover. (Making a Collection Event relatively likely, although Respawn could still surprise fans with someting new.)
