With the Apex Legends Grand Soirée Arcade Event now into its second half, there are now three more game modes left to feature. The fifth of the seven modes, Armed and Dangerous on World’s Edge, is set to launch tomorrow and, like all the others, will only be available for two days. The Armed and Dangerous game mode is an alteration of a mode which has featured in Apex Legends before, focusing solely on shotguns and sniper rifles.
Apex Legends Grand Soirée: Armed and Dangerous on World’s Edge
Tomorrow, the Always be Closing game mode will no longer be available, and its spot will be taken by Armed and Dangerous on World’s Edge. While Always be Closing altered the game’s core mechanics, Armed and Dangerous makes changes to two things; the weapons available in the mode, and the players’ starting stats. These two things contribute to a likely frenetic style of play. Firstly, the only weapons to feature in the mode will be shotguns and sniper rifles. Additionally, all players will start with lower armour than normal.

Armed and Dangerous on World’s Edge, like each of the other seven game modes in the Grand Soirée event, will only be available for two days. It will, like the others, also feature three challenges worth a total of 1,000 points towards the Event Prize Track. Following the event’s conclusion, there will only be two events remaining; Kings Canyon After Dark and DUMMIEs Big Day. These will span the rest of the event until its eventual end on the 28th of January.
Of these modes, the most interesting is perhaps DUMMIEs Big Day. Details about this mode are still hazy. However, gameplay footage seems to suggest that the mode could feature AI bot enemies. If so, it would be the first time that such enemies have ever appeared in Apex Legends. (A very interesting precedent to set for the future of the game.)
