Battlefield 5 PC Performance Guide: Display and Performance

Battlefield 5 is due to release on the 20th of November. In fact, the game is already available to gamers who subscribe to either Origin Access or EA Access. DICE has already detailed no fewer than two sets of recommended PC requirements; one intended to make use of the game’s new ray tracing graphics options. Now, the studio has released guidelines for how to get the most out of Battlefield 5 PC for performance and display options.

How to Get the Best Battlefield 5 PC Performance and Display

Battlefield 5’s graphics options on PC can go very high. As such, DICE assures players that they can be played at practically any resolution. Of course, this includes 4K and particularly high frame-rates. Not only is 4K display possible, in fact, but it will work on almost any screen resolution. The game also boasts FOV options to fit one or two monitors, including both regular and ultra-wide displays. The User Interface is also scalable and can be adjusted for personal preference.

Battlefield 5 PC Allows for Ray Tracing on Certain Graphics Cards

While the game runs at a minimum 60 fps, better machines can go well beyond this; “With the right machine,” explains DICE; “this can result in shorter input delays and better performance at frame rates beyond 60 fps. Maximum frame rates are capped at 200 fps.”

DICE also assures players that Battlefield 5 has support for truly high-end graphics settings. Draw distance, texture quality, shadow quality, etc. can all be drastically improved on superior machines. Battlefield 5 PC is also one of the first games to offer support for ray tracing, a new form of real-time effect for traced reflections. DICE and NVIDIA showed off this technology in action using Battlefield 5. However, you’ll need either a GeForce RTX 2070, 2080, or 2080 Ti to make use of it. This feature also isn’t currently enabled in-game, but will be delivered in an upcoming patch.

Battlefield 5 features two other NVIDIA systems; Ansel and Highlights. Ansel is an integrated photo mode in the game’s War Stories campaign, while Highlights is a system which allows you to record gameplay clips.
