Latest Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter Trailer Puts the Focus on Amara
Continuing on from last week, when the studio released Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter trailers for Zane Flynt and Moze, Gearbox has now released a new trailer for Amara; the new Siren Vault Hunter in the upcoming game. Like the previous two trailers, the Amara trailer gives fans a bit of insight into the character, rather than showing off gameplay or specific mechanics.

We already know a little about Amara’s backstory thanks to the official cosplay guides released by Gearbox. They reveal that Amara is; “a hero born in the slums of Partali,” and that she is; “brash, aggressive, and self-assured”. Certainly, those traits were evidenced in the latest Borderlands 3 Vault Hunter trailer. Amara spends the brief trailer looking for opponents who will actually fight her, with most running away in fear. Her Siren abilities also reflect her personality, with a very different take on Sirens than previous characters like Lilith and Maya.
Amara’s Phasetrance ability allows her to summon an astral projection; six arms of energy which she can use for a variety of powerful attacks. Of course, just as the other Vault Hunters are versatile with their abilities, Amara can put her arms to plenty of different uses.
Her three Skill Trees are Brawl, Fist of the Elements, and Mystical Assault. The Brawl tree grants her access to the Phaseslam Action Skill; an ability which allows her to slam her arms into the ground for a huge area blast. Fist of the Elements, meanwhile, lets her use Phasegrasp, which lets Amara project a huge fist out of the ground to trap enemies; a very similar skill to Maya’s special ability in Borderlands 2. Finally, her Mystical Assault tree features the Phasecast Action Skill. This skill lets Amara create an astral projection that; “bombards everything in its path with a flurry of fists”.
