The world of Code Vein sure is a mysterious one, but if there’s one thing we do know is that character Mia Karnstein is going to be a big part of it. The game has been lauded as an anime Dark Souls, but it seems that trailers that have surrounded it show that story, as well as characters such as Mia Karnstein and Jack Rutherford, will have a huge part to play rather than it just being a typical hack and slash. That said, there is still a lot we don’t know about the world, and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t want to hear more about it before it’s released.
Thankfully, we’re not the only ones who felt that perhaps fans need to know more about the characters and world before Code Vein’s worldwide release. Bandai Namco has recently decided to start a series of character introduction videos to allow us to learn just that little more about the main characters. Their first released trailer shows off Mia Karnstein, which you’ll be able to see for yourselves below.
While the dialogue is in Japanese, it isn’t hard to decipher parts of Mia’s character already. For one it’s obvious that she’s very close to her younger brother, Nicholas, and wishes to protect him from as much harm as she possibly can. For any Tales of fans out there, you’ll probably recognize the comparison some gamers have made between Mia and the protagonist of Tales of Berseria, Velvet Crowe.
Another thing that was implied in the trailer is that Mia’s relationship with Jack Rutherford may be on the ropes, as it appears that he seems to be trying to attack Nicholas with Mia deflecting his advances with her powers. But until there are English subtitles, this is all guess work.
Regardless, players should be preparing themselves for Code Vein’s release date this September on the 28th this year.
