Code Vein’s Yakumo Shinonome Gets His Own Introduction Trailer

Code Vein sure loves its trailers. If you cast your mind back to a few days ago, you’ll remember that Bandai Namco has started to release introductory trailers to celebrate the upcoming release of their vampiric, apocalypse RPG in September. Their first trailer showed off Mia Karnstein, a revenant who’s got quite the bone to pick with anyone who tries to hurt her brother, Nicholas. Ths time, however, the character hogging the spotlight is none other than Yakumo Shinonome.

Yakumo, like Mia, is an attacker-type Buddy (aka a companion) who likes to get up close and personal with his enemies. He wields a two-handed sword as his melee weapon, and the Blood Veil that is equipped to him are Hounds. While Mia’s Blood Veil looks more like a scorpion tail, lashing out to sting everyone, Yakumo’s jacket transforms into a pair of hound heads when he uses his Blood Veil ability.  Check out the video below to see for yourself.

What’s more, Yakumo has a lot more health when compared to the other Buddies in Code Vein, so he can endure more of the powerful attacks. But he isn’t just a tank that soaks up damage, he can help support you by using Gifts that enhance offensive and defensive abilities, as well as give you health.

Even better is that having Yakumo as a Buddy means you’re able to invest in long-range combat if you’d like, as Yakumo likes to get in his enemies face. While Yakumo is hacking and slashing away at enemies, it gives you the chance of sniping away enemies from behind. Now that’s what we call a team effort.

Like Mia, not much is known about Yakumo apart from he’ll be part of your group as you progress throughout Code Vein. What is certain is that he looks very much like an intriguing guy, and we can’t wait to meet him this September.
