Cyberpunk Concept Art Released at Gamescom Hides Secret ARG

CD Projekt Red recently held another behind-closed-doors gameplay demo screening at Gamescom. While the general public weren’t able to see any actual gameplay, the studio did release several in-game screenshots and pieces of Cyberpunk 2077 concept art. While interesting, they didn’t appear to be especially important. That assumption may have been completely incorrect, however, as it seems they hid a secret ARG.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Concept Art and the Secret ARG

Of the four pieces of Cyberpunk 2077 concept art, one in particular has set fans on a convoluted hunt. The picture in question features a crowd on a street in Night City. Some fans noticed that the image actually includes a bit.ly link, hidden in the picture’s top-right corner. That link took investigative fans to an image, with text overlaid which reads; “more than meets the eye.”

From there, fans were able to connect the dots to one of the other pieces of Cyberpunk 2077 concept art; one which features a miniature model of Optimus Prime. However, fans also discovered something else about the first image. When they ran it through a hex editor, they were able to acquire a link and run it through a Cesar cipher. That produces another link, which connects to this page. The text reads; “Can’t talk. They’re watching. Need my TT insurance renewed ASAP. Use the provided ID. Counting on you.”

Fans Found a Website For Trauma Team International

As referenced in a previous Cyberpunk 2077 blog, TT is the abbreviation of Trauma Team, a militarized private medical service which features in the game. Fans investigating the ARG on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Discord were able to unearth this page for Trauma Team International. Investigators spoke to a supposed customer service representative called “David,” who gave them an order number for an insurance package. He has since gone offline.

By entering the order number received from David on the Trauma Team International orders page, fans learned that it could take “up to 7 days” before they received an email. That is as far as the ARG investigation appears to have gotten. However, it seems that plenty of people in the Cyberpunk 2077 fan community are out in force. Nobody knows what might be waiting at the end of the ARG. Given that CD Projekt Red have shown very little of the game so far, there are a myriad of possibilities.
