DICE Teases Battlefield 5 Firestorm Trailer Possibly Coming This Week

Ever since its announcement last year, the Battlefield 5 Firestorm battle royale mode has been one of the game’s most anticipated features. However, the mode, which is in development at Criterion, was not ready to feature at launch. In fact, the mode is only now close to release, as the headline feature of the game’s third post-launch DLC chapter. In their latest weekly debrief, DICE teased a possible trailer and more information due to come sometime this week.

Is a Battlefield 5 Firestorm Trailer Coming This Week?

The Battlefield 5 Firestorm game mode is DICE’s take on the popular battle royale format. In fact, a gameplay video was recently leaked from the game’s own website, revealing some of the core features. That video may be a promotional video due to release officially very soon. It could even be the teased trailer, although it seemed to be more informational than a typical trailer. Firestorm will feature solo and squad modes, with dozens of players parachuting into a map that gradually closes in. However, the mode does boast some unique features. The inclusion of vehicles, for example. Moreover, the mode removes Battlefield 5’s classes, instead allowing all players to revive their allies.

Battlefield 5 Firestorm Mode Trailer Coming Soon

DICE recently published their latest weekly debrief on Reddit, and at the end of this post, they made several references to Firestorm. One of the things supposedly coming in the week beginning today, the 11th of March, is; “Behind Closed Doors – Criterion”. Given that Firestorm is what Criterion is currently working on, this sounds as though fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming mode. DICE also includes a bullet point which simply states; “Trailer – You’ll see.”

It’s possible that an upcoming trailer could simply be for Trial by Fire, the third chapter of Tides of War; Battlefield 5’s post-launch content schedule. However, given that Firestorm is the headline feature of Trial by Fire, and is potentially the game’s biggest post-launch release thus far; it seems very likely that it will get its own trailer. It’s currently unknown exactly when Firestorm will release, so releasing a trailer could be a way for DICE to make that release date public.
