  1. I have a Logitech G432 headphone/mic. It has the three banded 3.5mm plug, two for stereo audio and one for the mic. Does anyone know if this headset is useable with the Xbox? Do I HAVE to use the wireless controller and headset adapter? Currently, I'm using a DAC/headphone amp connected to the Toslink output on the console so I can get decent volume, and not have the audio shut off in the middle of play. The headphone came with a 3.5mm splitter, and a 3.5mm>USB "headphone adapter". But I have no idea how those are supposed to be used. I've tried various things, but cannot get the mic to be recognized. I resolved my Double NAT issue by setting my router to Bridge mode, but now the Xbox is saying I've got a UPnP issue, that may or may not interfere with online play. Does that have any bearing?
  2. So, I've got my Xbox One S, and the Logitech G920 wheel and peddle set, Dell 4k 32" monitor, and Logitech G432 headphone with mic. The headset has a 3.5mm plug that plugs into a USB adapter. However, it doesn't work. I have to plug the 3.5mm jack into the Xbox controller?? That doesn't seem right. I'm still trying to resolve a Double NAT issue, so gaming online is still out. But if I can resolve it, how is plugging a stereo jack into the Xbox controller going to allow me to use the headset mic? Also, the headset volume is way low. And I've maxed out all volume controls. Am I going to have to get a headphone amp? Is there a way to keep the controller from shutting off in the middle of play when I'm only using it for sound? It's annoying in the middle of driving to have the sound go out and having to turn on the stupid controller again. And another thing....why is it that I have to restart the Xbox, usually more than once, to get BOTH the wheel and peddles AND the hand controller to work at the same time? The wheel has a power button and the controller has a power button. But most of the time hitting one or the other turns the system on, but leaves the wheel and peddles out of it and I have to reboot the console in Hope's that both will be operational. What's the trick?
  3. Ok, I have an issue....with networking. A Double NAT was detected, which apparently will not allow me to play online. I've looked at the Xbox troubleshooting guide about this, and I don't understand the issue. Nonetheless, I went into the router setup, looking for the Bridge mode setting. What I found was a choice of NAT or RIP. Okay. So I selected RIP, exited the setup, and restarted the router. I no longer had an internet connection. So I reset the router to NAT. I have microwave over the air internet. Cable comes in from a dish to a power adapter then to my router. I have the Xbox connected via cable. I read that putting the router in Bridge mode could resolve the problem, but I also read that doing so disables the router firewall, and makes the router an "access point", which sounds kinda scary to me. Anyone else experience this issue? Suggestions?
  4. Ah, yes, thank you! I appreciate the reply. That's quite a list. I could have questions about each, but I presume that stuff is explained in the manual that comes with the Xbox? They do have some kind of user manual that comes with it? (I went to Microsoft's Xbox site for information and all I saw was advertising) Of course I'd love your suggestions. All ears. Questions at the top of my mind: I'm getting the digital no Blu Ray Xbox One S, so I guess I'm downloading my games, and depending on how many games I get, store them in a cloud? How many games can you have on the console at once? 1 Terabyte. Can you at least have one game loaded on the console ready to play without having to wait for the game to download each time? I'd like to be able to flip it on and go.
  5. Really? No replies? No one willing to help a newby?
  6. Hi folks, I'm completely new to high end gaming. I know zilch. But since the quarantines, and since there's no Formula 1 season, I've gotten into watching The Race esports racing on ESPN. And I started googling the gear I saw the competitors using. Whoo! Nah, not gonna pay $1500 just for a wheel. Or a high end PC with three nVidia cards and three monitors. Wouldn't pass the wife test. 😲 But a modest setup is doable...so I ordered an Xbox One S Digital, a Dell 32" curved monitor, and I think I got the last Logitech G920 wheel/peddle set in North America! From Canada! And pay $100 more than retail for the privilege! 🤑 I'm planning to get Forza Horizon 4 and Dirt 4. I'm mainly interested in driving sims. Like what they're doing with The Race. Road racing at various real tracks. I was also into World Rally Championship and wanted to try my had at that too. I'm a fan of forums for learning about new things (I'm also into RC cars, and I have an electric vehicle, a Bolt EV), and I've been trying to glean some knowledge here, but I'm just too behind the times. And I haven't picked up the lingo. Haven't found an FAQ. What I'd like to know: I'd like to know what to expect when I get all this stuff and set it up. Like I said, I'm looking for a driving experience, but I understand there is some sort of game play involved, and I earn credits to buy more cars? How does that work? I can't just pick a car to drive? What's a Wheelspin? Eventually, I'd like to be able to race against my buddy (who will eventually get a similar setup). How does that work? I read a little about Xbox's online gaming site, but I still don't get it. I have to subscribe to the service to play? My internet connection is over the air, and I'm in the single digits for speed, although I can upgrade. Would 15mbps be sufficient? Thanks in advance for any info and advice. I need it.
