Island of Light: Where to Find this Hidden Treasure in God of War

The Island of Light treasure map is one of many scattered throughout God of War. Like each of the game’s treasure maps, such as Njord’s Oarsmen and The Historian, it provides a clue rather than a true map. If you can decipher the clue, it will lead you a hidden treasure somewhere else in the game world.

The “Island of Light” treasure map can only be found after you have lowered the water level of the Lake of Nine. When you have done so, you can reach the dock at the Mason’s Channel. There, on the shore, you should find a Mystic Gateway. The Island of Light map lies near that gate.

The map’s clue reads: “While we hail from Alfheim, the Light Elves make sure to watch over Midgard. I’ve spent most of my life here at this outpost and I will likely die here.”

Finding the Island of Light Hidden Treasure

The clue is relatively simple if you are familiar with the locations around the Lake of Nine; it is hinting at the Light Elf Outpost, which can be found on an island north of Tyr’s Temple and south of the Ruins of the Ancient.

When you arrive at the Outpost, dock your boat and walk up to the Nornir Chest. You may need to extend a light bridge if you haven’t been to the Light Elf Outpost before (instructions can be found here). Once you reach the chest, turn and put it at your back. From there, follow the path that leads to your right and jump a gap that you’ll come upon, then ascend a ramp and turn to the right. The hidden treasure is buried behind the gate. Once again, you may need to raise this gate if you haven’t visited the Outpost yet. Foremost among the loot is a Legendary resource called Unyielding Cinders. The treasure also includes a Rare enchantment called the Sturdy Sign of Menace.
