New Features Coming in Elder Scrolls: Online Update 21

The first game update for The Elder Scrolls: Online in 2019 will be ‘Update 21,’ and it promises to add a host of new content and improvements to the popular MMO. ZeniMax Online Studios recently published a preview for The Elder Scrolls: Online Update 21 on the game’s official website, and revealed that it will be launching ‘soon,’ alongside the Wrathstone DLC; the first DLC dungeon pack of the Season of the Dragon.

What’s Coming in The Elder Scrolls: Online Update 21

ZeniMax hasn’t yet revealed a release date, or even a release month, for the Wrathstone DLC or The Elder Scrolls: Online Update 21. However, the preview does state that they are ‘coming soon’. The Elsweyr Chapter DLC is scheduled to launch in June, as part 2 of the 4 planned Season of the Dragon DLC releases, so Wrathstone is likely to release in the next few months. Wrathstone is bringing two big new group dungeons to the game. However, the free Update 21 is also bringing a lot of new content of its own.

First of all, Update 21 will be bringing some changes to PvP. The biggest of these is the addition Eld Angvar, a new Battleground. This PvP arena is set somewhere between realms and features floating platforms and other strangeness. The update is also bringing a set of new PvP rewards. These include three new weapon Outfit Styles to match the Pit Daemons, Stormlords, and Firedrakes Battlegrounds teams, as well as the Elinhir Arena Lion pet.

Another key feature of Update 21 is the addition of the ‘Zone Guide’ system. This will be available in the Group and Activity Finder or the game map. This system will enable you to see your progress in Tamriel’s different zones. You can also track a variety of activities using the Zone Guide, including Wayshrines, Skyshards, Zone Story Quests, and others. “With this new system,” says ZeniMax; “everybody that enters Tamriel can easily find their next adventure or help them finally 100% complete a zone.”

In addition to a host of general fixes and tweaks, Update 21 is bringing two more key features. The first of these is the Guild Trader UI. This will allow you to search by item name, go back and look at your past searches, and see item prices listed per unit. Overall, ZeniMax is hoping that it will make the trader UI; “much more user-friendly.” Additionally, Update 21 is bringing some major changes to the Racial Passive Abilities. These are aimed at making the abilities synergise better with more playstyles.
