New Total War: Three Kingdoms Records Mode Livestreams Announced

Following the first series of developer livestreams held by Creative Assembly, the studio has announced dates for the next three. This new trio of Total War: Three Kingdoms developer livestreams will follow the same format as the first; i.e. each will be part of a single campaign playthrough. This playthrough will also take place in the game’s ‘Records Mode,’ which was only shown publicly very recently, via a 20-minute gameplay video.

Total War: Three Kingdoms Records Mode Livestream Dates

Creative Assembly’s last series of three Total War: Three Kingdoms livestreams saw two staff members at the studio take control of a campaign in the game’s Romance Mode, the more fiction-influenced mode based on the Chinese classic novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. After a fan vote, the studio representatives chose to play as Yuan Shao. This time around, the livestreams will feature a playthrough of a Records Mode campaign featuring Ma Teng. Interestingly, the recent Records Mode gameplay video showed an army led by Gongsun Zan, another faction leader who shares the same class as Ma Teng; Vanguard. The only other Vanguard faction leader is the tyrant Dong Zhuo himself.

Total War Three Kingdoms Livestreams Records Mode

The three Records Mode livestreams will be taking place weekly. The first will be tomorrow, on the 27th of February. It will begin at 3 PM GMT/7 AM PST/10 AM EST. The second livestream will be on the 6th of March at the same time. Finally, the third livestream will be on the 13th of March, also at the same time. It seems likely that Creative Assembly will continue to livestream in the lead-up to the game’s release, which is now to in May due to a recent delay. However, it’s possible that the studio may take a break from Three Kingdoms at some stage to stream footage from the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 2 DLC.

Details of this DLC are currently scarce. Originally slated to release after Three Kingdoms, the studio’s marketing clearly sought not to distract from Three Kingdoms as the release date approached. However, Creative Assembly confirmed that the DLC will now launch before the game due to the delay of its release date. As such, it’s likely that Creative Assembly will announce details of the DLC relatively soon.
