West Virginia Tourism Launches Map of Fallout 76’s Real-World Sites

In a perhaps unprecedented move, an official branch of the United States government has released a tie-in with a major video game release. The Fallout 76 Map Released by West Virginia Tourism

Ever since the announcement that Fallout 76 would take place in West Virginia, there has been a surge in interest in the state. Several fan meet-ups have already taken place there. Bethesda even had a booth at the annual Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant this year. Clearly noticing the surge and the potential for tourism; the West Virginia Tourism Board announced that they were officially partnering with Bethesda last month. Following the announcement, the West Virginia governor even released a statement supporting the partnership.

New Interactive Map Highlights Real-World Sites

Now, at least one of the results of that partnership has been revealed. As the game has gone live worldwide, West Virginia Tourism have released a new web-page featuring an interactive version of the Fallout 76 game map. Like previous Fallout games, Fallout 76 features a variety of real-world locations re-imagined for the Fallout universe. Now, in an effort to promote them for tourism, the map highlights all of these sites with details; “Fallout 76 locations found in real-world West Virginia,” says the web-page; “These locations inspired the forested, rolling mountain landscape for the game, and you can experience them all first-hand on your own escape to the mountain state.”

For fans keen to see which real-world sites Bethesda chose to include; the interactive map is certainly interesting. A few of the larger locations include the Palace of the Winding Path, Camden Park, and The Greenbrier; the spot where Bethesda held their first major press event for the game last month.
