Bethesda Announces Fallout 76 Community Team Livestreams

In a new effort to improve communication between the studio and their fan community, Bethesda has announced that they will soon begin a series of Fallout 76 livestreams. The announcement came in the studio’s latest “Inside the Vault” blog post; alongside details of the upcoming patch and the new ‘Wild Appalachia‘ PvE content release.

Bethesda’s Upcoming Fallout 76 Livestreams

“Starting soon,” announces Bethesda; “our Community team is going to start livestreaming Fallout 76 on Twitch and Mixer. We’d like to start working to answer more of your questions in real-time while also having fun hanging out with you. We’ll be curating these streams based on what you’d like to know, as well as using them as opportunities to chat more directly with you while we share in our excitement for new content, quests, events, and more throughout this year, and beyond.”

Fallout 76 Livestreams to be Run by Community Team

The first of Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 76 livestreams will take place at 2:00 – 3:00 PM ET on February 22nd; next Friday. With five major bug-fixing patches already released, and most of the game’s biggest problems seemingly fixed; it seems that Bethesda is finally able to start working on post-launch content. The new “Survival Mode” PvP mode is planned to release in March, as is the first of the “Wild Appalachia” updates. The latter is apparently to be Bethesda’s first major content release of 2019. It will consist of weekly PvE updates spanning several months.

Hopefully, Bethesda will be able to use these Fallout 76 livestreams to gauge what fans want to see going forward. Certainly, the studio’s reputation has taken a severe blow in the wake of the game’s release; any effort they can make to repair that relationship with their fans is sorely needed. However, the success of a recent patch which wiped out leftover duplicated items from a highly-problematic exploit seems to have left fans pleased. Now may be a good time to start opening more direct communication and hearing from those fans about what the studio should aim for next.
