How do you feel about the changes to the Final Fantasy series over time?

With each new entry, the Final Fantasy series has evolved in gameplay, art style, and storytelling. From the classic turn-based combat of the early games to the more action-oriented systems in recent releases, not to mention shifts in tone and character design, there’s been a lot of change. Do you like the direction the series has taken, or do you miss the old-school Final Fantasy?

In my opinion, From 1 to 10 barring 9 were really good. From 11 onwards, I found that most of the newer FF games have this lackluster feel to them and the stories were really mediocre.
