killamch89 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Harassment and bullying in gaming are persistent issues that negatively impact many players. What can we, as a community, do to make gaming spaces safer and more inclusive? Are there specific actions developers, streamers, or players can take to address toxic behavior? How can we promote empathy, respect, and accountability both in-game and online?
Scorpion Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 We must prioritize empathy, respect, and accountability in gaming by reporting toxic behavior, promoting positive community norms, and amplifying marginalized voices to create safer, more inclusive spaces.
killamch89 Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Personally, I think the gaming community can push developers to implement and improve robust reporting and moderation systems. Clear consequences for toxic behavior, such as temporary bans or chat restrictions, can deter harassment. Players should also be encouraged to report abusive behavior without fear of retaliation, and developers should make reporting tools easy to use.
