Halo: Combat Evolved completely changed my expectations for console FPS games. The combination of vehicle sections, large-scale battles, and that sense of mystery exploring the ring world created an experience that felt generations ahead of its time. That first step onto the Halo ring is still one of my most memorable gaming moments.
