killamch89 Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Xbox achievements have been around since the 360 era, and they’ve only grown in importance for some players. Are you someone who hunts 100% completions, or do you only pay attention when they pop naturally? Do you like how achievements add replayability, or do you feel they sometimes lead to tedious tasks? Compared to PlayStation’s trophy system, do you think Xbox needs a Platinum equivalent? And how do you feel about the rare achievement pop?
Scorpion Posted March 16, 2025 Posted March 16, 2025 I enjoy hunting achievements occasionally, but I don’t stress about 100% completions. They do add replay value, though some can feel tedious. A Platinum equivalent would be cool for Xbox, and rare achievements definitely feel special when they pop!
killamch89 Posted March 30, 2025 Author Posted March 30, 2025 I have mixed feelings about achievements pushing developers toward certain design choices. While they often highlight creative aspects of games, the standardization sometimes leads to formulaic open-world collectathons or unnecessarily grindy objectives that feel designed for achievement hunters rather than enhancing the core experience.
