killamch89
I've been experimenting with my PC gaming handheld lately and discovered a need for multiple software profiles. I manage different configurations for various games to optimize performance and settings. Sometimes, I create separate profiles for high-performance gaming and others for battery conservation. It involves juggling various drivers, launch parameters, and even software launchers. I’d love to hear your techniques: do you use any dedicated software to manage these profiles, or rely solely on manual configuration?
Scorpion
I primarily rely on manual configuration for my gaming profiles. It allows me to customize settings based on each game's needs. However, I’m interested in exploring dedicated software options to streamline the process. I’d love to hear your recommendations!
killamch89
On my Steam Deck, I've found creating per-game profiles through Steam Input to be the most reliable approach. I maintain a standard template with common mappings, then create game-specific variations saved to each title. For non-Steam games, I use the external controller configurator in Playnite to maintain similar consistency. The key is documenting your configurations somewhere. I keep a simple spreadsheet noting the specific changes for each game.
