PlayStation libraries boast titles like Nier: Automata, Disco Elysium, and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice—games that challenge storytelling conventions. Which PlayStation-exclusive or multi-platform game twisted narrative expectations for you? How did it subvert typical hero arcs, break the fourth wall, or use environmental storytelling in surprising ways?

My favorite PlayStation game that subverts narrative is probably *Detroit: Become Human*.  Its branching choices and exploration of morality really break from typical game storytelling.

NieR: Automata fundamentally challenges narrative conventions by requiring multiple playthroughs to reveal its true story. The way it uses different perspectives, integrates gameplay mechanics with storytelling, and ultimately breaks the fourth wall creates a narrative experience that could only exist in interactive media.
