What accessory do you think would have made the N‑Gage even more versatile?

The Nokia N-Gage dared to merge cellphone and handheld gaming, yet it never fully realized its potential. Looking back, what peripheral or accessory could have pushed it over the edge? A landscape-mode clip-on controller, a swappable cartridge grip, Bluetooth headset integration for seamless voice chat - what hardware add-on would have elevated its versatility? How might such an accessory have improved ergonomics, multiplayer connectivity or multimedia functions? And could modular attachments have set a precedent for today’s mobile gaming markets?

A physical keyboard, or at least a more responsive touchscreen, would have dramatically improved the N-Gage's versatility.  Typing, navigation, and more complex controls would have opened up a wider range of games and applications.

I think a snap-on physical controller with proper D-pad and buttons would have transformed the N-Gage experience. The awkward side-talking and taco design could have been forgiven if the gaming controls were excellent. This accessory would have maintained portability while addressing the device's biggest flaw: uncomfortable gaming controls that undermined its primary purpose.
