Should games include digital reminders or educational segments to contextualize controversial content?

Recommended Posts

With increasing scrutiny on sensitive or controversial content in games be it depictions of violence, historical atrocities, or mature themes should developers include in-game reminders, educational segments, or resource links to contextualize what players are seeing? Would brief historical notes, trigger warnings, or unlockable documentary clips enhance understanding without breaking immersion? Or would such additions feel preachy or gimmicky?

Yes, I believe games should include digital reminders or educational segments to help contextualize controversial content. This promotes understanding, critical thinking, and responsible gaming, ensuring players are informed and respectful while enjoying the game’s experience.
