killamch89 Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 I’ve been digging out my old PSP lately and revisited its media player, and I’m impressed by how ahead of its time it felt back in the day. Whether it was the intuitive album art display, the smooth playback of MP3s and ATRAC files, or the way you could tweak EQ settings on the fly, there was always something to praise. Which single feature do you still lean on when you spin up those classic tunes or movie clips? Do you miss any of those options on modern handhelds, or did they over‑engineer it?
Scorpion Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 The ability to play various video formats on the go was a game-changer! Watching movies and shows wherever I wanted, without needing bulky discs, was incredibly convenient and ahead of its time.
killamch89 Posted May 3, 2025 Author Posted May 3, 2025 The UMD video playback was revolutionary for its time. Being able to watch full movies on a portable device in 2005 felt like living in the future. I remember taking long bus trips with my collection of UMD films. The screen quality was surprisingly good for that era.
