What's more important: action or story? And why? I’d say story as you need to understand the meaning behind the game before enjoying  the action

This question reminds me of asking whether a song's lyrics or melody matter more - it entirely depends on the artist's intent and the listener's preferences. Story-driven experiences like Disco Elysium prioritize narrative depth, while action-focused titles like Doom Eternal emphasize mechanical mastery. Both approaches create valid, profound experiences when executed with clear vision rather than trying to satisfy both masters equally

For me, it's definitely story. A compelling narrative gives the action meaning and purpose. Without a good story, even the flashiest action can feel hollow and forgettable.
