killamch89
I’m on a mission to rediscover which Sega Saturn fighting title first introduced tag-team battles. Was it X-Men Children of the Atom, allowing swaps mid-fight, or maybe some lesser-known Japanese import? How did the tag mechanics function - did they focus on assists, combo extensions, or strategic team synergy? Compared to Capcom’s arcade originals on CPS-2 board, did the Saturn port maintain fluid tag transitions and roster depth?
Scorpion
The Sega Saturn fighting game that introduced innovative tag-team mechanics is “X-Men vs. Street Fighter.” It combined characters from both universes and featured dynamic tag-team gameplay, influencing future crossover fighting games and enhancing multiplayer excitement on the Saturn. killamch89
I remember spending countless hours with X-Men vs. Street Fighter on Saturn - the tag system was mind-blowing at the time! Being able to call in Wolverine for an assist then immediately switch to Ryu for a hadoken follow-up felt revolutionary compared to traditional one-on-one fighters we were used to.
