Competitive PC gaming is all about fairness and skill expression, but ability balance often feels elusive. Think MOBAs like Dota 2, League of Legends, or hero shooters like Overwatch and Valorant: do you think their developers strike the right balance between unique character kits and overall fairness? Have you ever felt a particular hero or champion was so over-powered that matches became frustratingly one-sided? Conversely, have any under-powered characters ever felt neglected despite buffs?

I believe a good balance of character abilities is crucial for fair competition. When abilities are well-designed and balanced, it encourages skill-based gameplay and strategic teamwork, making matches more exciting and rewarding without feeling dominated by overpowered characters.

Perfect balance is probably impossible in games with diverse character rosters, but I think the constant patching cycle has actually made things worse in some ways. When developers knee-jerk nerf popular characters, it creates this endless meta-chasing that can be exhausting for casual players trying to learn.
