Some NES games made a statement right from the intro screen with their music, visuals, and atmosphere. Whether it was the eerie hum of Metroid or the dramatic scroll of Ninja Gaiden, which intro screen made the biggest impression on you as a kid (or now)? Let’s talk retro hype!

For me, the NES game introduction that truly delivered a "wow" factor was Ninja Gaiden.1 The cinematic cutscenes were unlike anything else on the system at the time. The detailed character portraits and dramatic storytelling felt truly revolutionary, immediately immersing you in Ryu Hayabusa's quest.

Castlevania's gothic intro with the approaching castle and that organ music created an immediate sense of dread that perfectly matched the vampire-hunting theme.
