Kane99
Source - https://kotaku.com/switch-2-piracy-nintendo-mig-ban-roms-mario-kart-1851784610 Nintendo has been taking piracy very seriously, but to be fair, they've always been serious about piracy. Anyway, it seems that Nintendo is banning users who are using a MIG Switch. For those wondering what that is, it's like a Switch cart that you can load other switch games on. But that's something Nintendo does not allow, and it looks like gamers are using the Mig Switch on their Switch 2 consoles. Some gamers use these carts with their own backed up games, but there are people out there using this with pirated games. Nintendo has even started suing people who sell the Mig Switch carts. So, how do you feel about this? Do you think gamers should have the right to use these Mig Switch carts as long as they are legally backing up their own games? Or with the way licensing is going these days with games and how we don't necessarily own our games anymore, they could probably argue that we don't have the right to create backups of games we own. Or license in this case.
Scorpion
This is a tricky one, highlighting the ongoing tension between consumer rights and company control. While legally backing up games seems like a reasonable right for ownership, Nintendo's EULA and aggressive stance on unauthorized hardware/software modifications make any use of devices like the MIG Switch risky. It's a sign of how "ownership" is evolving towards "licensing" in digital media.
