Did you ever experience a secret level in a Sega Genesis game that had no warp codes?

What’s up, explorers? We all know Genesis classics like Sonic use warp zones, but some hidden stages required discovery without cheat codes. Have you ever stumbled upon a secret level in a Genesis game purely by skill or curiosity? Maybe a hidden path in Gunstar Heroes or an Easter egg chamber in Contra: Hard Corps? Tell us how you found it whether using pixel hunting, sequence quirks, or button combos. What made that discovery memorable, and did it change how you approached the game afterward?

Not exactly a secret level without warp codes, but more like a hidden area! I always loved finding the "debug mode" in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. No warp code, just a specific sound test sequence and button press to unlock a whole new way to explore levels. So cool!

In my playthrough of Ecco the Dolphin, I accidentally breached the sunken city wall and got into a submerged alcove that wasn’t on any map. It led to a glowing orb chamber I’d never read about - absolutely magical without ever entering a cheat.
