killamch89 Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 The Xbox Series X/ S launch and Game Pass library include some fantastic 2D side‑scrollers both fresh releases and optimized classics. Whether it’s Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Hollow Knight, or new indies like Tunic, there’s plenty of platforming magic to dive into. Which side‑scroller on Series X impressed you most? Was it the art direction, tight controls, inventive level design, or memorable soundtrack? Did you relish speedrun challenges or backtracking for collectibles?

Ori and the Will of the Wisps absolutely floored me with its emotional storytelling combined with buttery-smooth platforming mechanics. The way it builds on the original while adding new movement abilities and combat depth makes it a masterclass in sequel design that showcases the Series X's capabilities perfectly.
