When You’ll Be Able to Play the Battlefield 5 Rush Mode

Among the new features and content coming in the Lightning Strikes chapter of Tides of War is the return of Rush; a popular game mode from past Battlefield instalments. The Battlefield 5 Rush mode won’t be available to play as soon as the chapter launches on the 17th of January, however. Instead, the mode will only be available for a limited time.

When the Battlefield 5 Rush Mode Will be Available to Play

Just like the brief availability of the new Squad Conquest game mode, the return of Rush is one of Lightning Strikes’ five major events. While Squad Conquest is the focus of the ‘A Few Good Soldiers’ event, which spans weeks 1 and 2 of Lightning Strikes, Rush has its own event called ‘Unstoppable Force’. The Unstoppable Force event is the fifth and final event of the Lightning Strikes’ schedule, and will run during the chapter’s 8th and 9th weeks. This means that players won’t be able to play Rush until March. Mirroring ‘A Few Good Soldiers,’ the ‘Unstoppable Force’ event will include two new Weekly Challenges with objectives based around the upcoming game mode. However, DICE has yet to release details on these challenges and their rewards.

Battlefield 5 Rush Mode Available for Two Weeks Only

The Rush mode first appeared in the Battlefield series with Battlefield: Bad Company. According to DICE, the game mode is little different in Battlefield 5; “In Battlefield V, the rules are more or less the same. Your objective depends on whether you’re on the attacking or defending side. Attackers have a limited amount of respawn tickets and need to arm two bombs before the respawns run out. Defenders need to do whatever they can to stop this explosive plan.”

The Rush mode will only be available to play on the Devastation, Narvik, and Twisted Steel maps. According to DICE, the reason why Squad Conquest and Rush are only available for a few weeks’ each is because they want to get community feedback; if players enjoy the new modes, then it seems likely that they could return on a longer-term, or even permanent basis.
