Apex Legends Will Get Another New Character During Season One

It has seemingly been quietly revealed that there will actually be a second new Apex Legends character coming during the newly launched Season One. Octane, the first new character for Apex Legends, launched with the start of the game’s first season. However, the game’s official description on the PlayStation website appears to confirm that fans can expect to see another new character, and a new weapon, launching at some stage in the next twelve weeks.

Another Apex Legends Character is Coming Sometime in the Next Twelve Weeks

The first new Apex Legends character to launch in the game was Octane, an adrenaline junkie with an emphasis on speed. This new character was released as part of the start of Apex Legends’ Season One. However, fans recently noticed that the official description for Season One on the PlayStation website appears to reveal that another character is on the horizon; “Two new characters will launch over the course of the season,” it reads; “but in the meantime, look out for a new weapon set to launch as the season progresses. Best of all, each new Legend and weapon will launch with a full set of cosmetics to unlock.”

Another Apex Legends Character Will Release in Season One

Presumably, the first character which the description refers to is Octane. However, that leaves one more to release sometime during the course of Season One. That event is due to span the next twelve weeks, so fans may not have to wait too long. There’s no hint at the character’s identity in the description, unfortunately. Fans have been able to uncover a lot of unused character models through datamining, but Respawn has warned against treating such sources as reliable indicators of what’s to come.

In the meantime, players should keep an eye out for the new weapon. At this stage, it seems most likely that the new weapon will be the L-Star; promotional images of which were uncovered in one of the datamining events. The images seemed to suggest an upcoming launch event for the weapon. At present, it’s unknown where the L-Star will fit into the existing roster, but fans can take a look through any of the existing Apex Legends weapon stats to see where it might best find a niche.
