Bethesda Releases Additional Details for Fallout 76 Patch 5

Patch 5 is the next major Fallout 76 patch, and is due to release sometime in the next week, according to Bethesda. Following on from the huge bug-fixing patch which went live earlier this month, Patch 5 focuses on bug-fixes, targeting exploits, and general improvements for the game. In their latest ‘Inside the Vault‘ blog post, Bethesda has given fans some additional details of what to expect from the upcoming update.

New Details About What’s Coming in Fallout 76 Patch 5

Bethesda hasn’t yet announced a release date for Patch 5. However, this latest post continues to state that the Fallout 76 patch will launch before the end of the month. As such, players should expect to see it launch sometime in the next week’s time. Some details were given out by Bethesda about the content coming in Patch 5 earlier this month. However, in a post that was dominated by the announcement of the upcoming ‘Survival’ Fallout 76 PvP mode, Bethesda also gave fans some more patch details.

Fallout 76 Early Warnings Bug Fixed in Fallout 76 Patch 5

“We’re pleased to share that we’re swatting another massive round of bugs with this patch,” says Bethesda; “and implementing a number of changes based on feedback that players like you have shared with us on the forums, Reddit, and social media.”

More specifically, Bethesda reveals four new changes coming in Patch 5. First of these are hotkey improvements for the game’s PC version, specifically for AZERTY keyboard layouts. This will primarily assist French-speaking players. More universally, players will now be able to see a ‘(Known)’ tag next to plans and recipes which appear in the inventories of Vendors and other players when trading. This should prevent players from mistakenly trading for or purchasing plans and recipes which they already know.

Two other bug-fixes mentioned by Bethesda target quests and the Travelling Pharmacy Perk Card. In the latter case, the card has been fixed and will reduce the weight of Chems by the correct amounts. The other fix concerns the Early Warnings quest; a bug can cause this quest progress to become stuck when players craft the Upgraded Motors. When players attempt to fix it by logging out, it could cause the quest tracker to reset to zero. A fix for this bug is coming in Patch 5.
