  1. Posting Guidelines Please use common sense when you participate on our forum. If your posts violate our guidelines or we feel they are unsuitable in some way, we may edit, move, or remove your post. If we do this, we will usually send you a private message to notify you. If you do not hear from us, feel free to inquire, but you may assume that your violation was minor in these situations and that we have forgone contacting you because we are swamped in other moderating duties. If you do hear from us, please do not assume that means that your violation is serious; we will let you know if it is directly. Please post grammatically. While we do not expect perfection as far as your spelling and grammar is concerned, we ask that you do your best and post readably in English. At the same time, we ask that you do not make posts or replies simply to correct the grammar or spelling of another forum member. This behavior is a form of trolling and will not be tolerated. Spammy or rude posts do not belong on this forum. If your post does not contribute to the topic in a positive, useful, or supportive manner, please defer posting. Comments which are negative and do not contribute to discussions on the forum will be removed. If you bump a topic (such as a recruitment thread for clan members), please provide some kind of new information, and do not simply write “Bump” in your post. You may bump your topics once every 48 hours in any section of the forum. Do not attempt to maneuver around this rule by “tag-team” bumping. Posting links is acceptable so long as the links are relevant to the topic. No affiliate links please. Do not post misleading links or images, including links or images that lead to shocking content. Likewise, we do not accept posts that promote hatred or intolerance of any groups or which link to hate sites. Try not swear or use any vulgarities on our forum. Some users are under the age of 18. Make your posts appropriate to a 13-18 age group. Use good judgment. Please do not discuss torrent sites or pirating software or any related topics on this site. Do not post private information concerning yourself or anyone else on this forum. For more information, read our guidelines on staying safe online. If you have suggestions for improving the VGR forum, we welcome you to contact us. You may send your suggestions via private message or post them publicly here, however we do not permit posts made solely to damage the community. Please refrain from posting only to insult or complain; post with a positive, constructive purpose. Posts which do not conform to these guidelines will be removed.
  2. Welcome to the VGR Forum, and thank you for taking a few minutes to read up on our guidelines. We provide this resource to you for free so that you can meet other members of the VGR community, exchange news, join clans, and participate in our giveaways. There are a lot of fantastic people here, and I feel sure that you’ll make a lot of friends and enjoy what we have to offer. Our goal is to make that experience enjoyable for everyone here in our community. To that end, we are posting these guidelines and rules for you to review. While we offer you membership on this forum for free, it is a privilege and not a right. If you do not follow our guidelines and rules, you will forfeit that privilege. Please check each of our forum sections for additional individual rules which may apply only to those particular sections. These forum-wide guidelines apply to the entire website. We regularly update these rules, so check back regularly; it is your responsibility to be up-to-date. And should you have any questions or concerns about the rules or guidelines, please ask for clarification instead of suffering in silence. 3. From time to time, you may need to contact an administrator here at the forum. Please observe the following guidelines when you decide to get in touch with us directly so that we can efficiently respond to your queries and issues: Do not send out multiple requests. Contact ONE administrator about any one issue. This prevents us from becoming confused and each trying to solve your problem in a different way and duplicating our efforts. It is more efficient for everyone, including you, to contact one of us. Please be patient. We do receive a number of PMs on a day-to-day basis. We will always attempt to respond to you within 24-48 hours, but please understand this is not always possible. If you do not hear from us within this timeframe, please feel free to write again or contact another administrator. The more urgent the issue, the more quickly we will respond. Before contacting an administrator, please ask yourself if the community can answer your question. Check the FAQ and the forum threads first, and if you have a general how-to question or a question about the rules, ask the community first here. Any time you have a sensitive matter to deal with, however, such as a complaint against a user or staff member, please file it privately with an administrator. Thank you. By observing these guidelines, you help us to efficiently and fairly administrate this forum and ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

    Staying Safe Online

If you are here with us on our community, we’re very happy to have you. It’s important to us that you stay safe while you are on our forum, so please observe the following simple guidelines for your safety: Keep your personal information to yourself. While these days many people are voluntarily surrendering their privacy online, we do not recommend that you share your real name, address, or phone number with anyone online. Do not give away your password either, because that can compromise the security of your personal information. Be cautious about meeting people in “real life.” Children should not meet strangers they have met on the internet without their parents’ permission and presence. Adults should proceed with caution. If you do decide to meet someone offline who you originally met online, do so in a public place. Do not accept files or open emails from people you don’t know. If you receive a suspicious message or file, don’t open it. Only open files you expect from people who you trust. If you are sent a suspicious email or PM from a member on this forum, contact an administrator. Do not take everything at face value, including what people tell you about themselves. Not everyone is honest about who they are on the internet. For some people this is a matter of privacy. For others it is a deliberate attempt to mislead. In either case, you should always remember that what you see may not necessarily represent reality. If something happens online that makes you uncomfortable, do tell someone who can do something about it. If your children use this forum, encourage them to tell you if something happens to them online that troubles them, and make it clear you will not be angry with them or shame them. If you are the one using this forum and someone harasses you, either avoid further communication with that person or report the incident to an administrator. The majority of forum users are here to make friends and share their enthusiasm for video games, and your administrators are here to ensure the safety of this community. We can only do so if our members observe safe online practices however and report members who are behaving in a manner which violates our terms of service or another’s online rights. Thank you for staying safe!
