killamch89 Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Modding can extend a game’s lifespan, enhance creativity, and foster a dedicated community, but it can also lead to compatibility issues, security risks, and a drain on developer resources. Should every game include modding support, or are there certain titles where it’s better left out? What do you think are the pros and cons of modding in modern games?
Scorpion Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Modding indeed adds creativity and community, but compatibility issues can arise. Not every game needs modding some are better standalone.
killamch89 Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 I'd love if most games supported it because it tends to extend the lifespan of most games. Take for instance the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games - without the modding community, most of those games especially the more recent ones would be known as mediocre games with fantastic stories but many bugs. Because of modders, those games are known as legendary.
